Computer Skills for Older Workers

Have you put off learning computer skills?  The good new is today's computers are easier to use. Join this class and learn essential computer skills for the workplace, in a friendly and relaxed environment. In this two day workshop students will learn the top computer skills valued by employers.   • Copy and paste
  • Time-saving tips  and techniques
  • Word: create, save, edit, format and print documents
  • Excel: create a spreadsheet with simple formulas, functions, and charts
  • Internet: visit web sites and search
  • Email: create, send, read, reply, add an attachment
  • Security: privacy, hoaxes, and protection tips

Beginner's Guide workshop series

Designed for the new computer learner, or someone with none or very little experience, each one-day workshop provides plenty of hands-on experience in a fun and relaxed environment. Students will view brief demonstrations, receive guidance and have opportunities to explore, experiment, and "try it on their own".

Movie Maker -- Desktop Video


Have you seen a movie, created from home photos or video, and wondered “how did they do that –do they have special skills?” If you can use a mouse then you can create a movie using this fun, friendly, and FREE Microsoft program. Learn how to easily and quickly create an eye-catching movie with Movie Maker. With guided exercises explore, discover, and get tips in this hands-on workshop. Instructor provided digital photos and video, or bring your own. Recommended: Beginner’s Guide to Computers or comparable computer experience.

Learn guidelines for creating visually appealing, effective, and professional PowerPoint presentations. More than a slide show, students will learn how to create and edit a movie, record audio, tips for success, traps to avoid, and time-saving techniques. Explore effective use of multi-media (audio, movies, music).
